A Celebration of Women’s Achievements | International Women's Day

Every year, March marks International Women’s Day and the entire month of March is dedicated to celebrating the achievements of women all around the world. This year, let’s take a look back at some of the amazing accomplishments that have been made in the last decade and see where we are headed for in the years to come.

In just the last 10 years, there have been numerous breakthroughs in fields such as science, education, business, and politics by incredible women around the world. In science alone, we have seen an increase in both the number of women in STEM-related fields and their success rates. For example, two female Nobel Prize winners were announced in 2019 – Esther Duflo for her work on poverty reduction and May-Britt Moser for her discoveries related to memory functions. Innovations like these are paving the way for future generations of young girls to get involved with STEM research.

In addition to scientific milestones, we can also celebrate progress made in educational equality over this past decade. In many countries around the world, girls are now receiving more access to education than ever before. This means that more girls will be able to pursue their dreams and work towards making a positive change in their communities. Women are also becoming increasingly active within politics– from Kamala Harris becoming Vice President of The United States to Jacinda Ardern becoming Prime Minister of New Zealand – history is being made every day! Furthermore, with movements such as #MeToo leading conversations about gender inequality issues, it has become increasingly clear that there is still a long way to go before achieving true gender parity across all industries.

Finally, we can recognize how influential female-run businesses have been on our economy over this past decade – from Bumble’s Whitney Wolfe Herd becoming one of Forbes’ youngest billionaires to Sara Blakely launching Spanx into a billion dollar empire! These successes show us that when given equal opportunities as men in business settings - women can not only compete but excel!

Celebrating International Women's Day is an opportunity to pause and reflect on how far women have come since 2009 - but also how much further there is still left to go until achieving true gender equality. As we move forward into this new decade let us continue striving towards creating a better tomorrow for everyone around us! Let's use International Women's Day as motivation for each other - encouraging one another along our paths towards success! Let's make 2021 a year for celebrating even more remarkable achievements by inspiring women everywhere! Happy International Women's Month!
